Genre: Picture Book

Age Level: Transitional; Grades 3 and up

World View: ethnic/latin

Theme: Imagination and individuality

Literary Elements: lots of rhyming, action words, dialogue and song, and it is bilingual

In the Classroom: makes for a great culture lesson, musically or through print. the class could make a piniata or similar art piece, a song, or a poem that relates, and shows understanding, of the book

Illustrations: vibrant and very latin american. the explosive words are portrayed with great illustrations, and the characters are all very fun throughout skippy's journey.
