Read in January, 1980, read count: 4

I lose myself in the book every time I pick it up. I have no idea how accurately it depicts its Japanese characters (although I do know enough about Japanese history to know Clavell's sources) in thought, deed, or culture, but I always find myself immersed in the world Clavell creates. So, whatever its value as an account of Japan, its value to me as both entertainment and introspective fiction is great.
