If this was a novel, I would have put it down after the first 20 pages, but I was intrigued simply because it was true. Two families, nearly identical, each with two daughters of the same age, meet, bond, and partner-swap. Each set of daughters ends up with their own mother, and the father of the other set. This sets off a lifetime of unresolved feelings of abandonment, of not being wanted, of destruction, as the girls shuttle back and forth between sets of parents/stepparents.

The basis of the story intrigued me. But, the deep, dark, emotional trauma and the resulting self-destructive behaviors and issues were more than I wanted to know.
