** spoiler alert ** I found this book a bit different from the other Caroline B. Cooney books that I've read in the past. It has a bit of an edge and her writing style, as always, is fantastic. My only negatives on this story was a the flow and the ending. While I love that Mitty ended up healthy, for the most part, I think the resolution was glossed over and rushed. When Mitty is trying to make a decision earlier in the book and doesn't know if he has smallpox or not, the story begins to drag with the repeated arguments, but then in a snap, it's over. The terrorists are never unmasked, we never find out if Mitty turns over a new leaf or if his relationship with Olivia ever moves forward. While the flow did not feel particularly right to me, the overall story is an enjoyable, quick read.
