I have been a Holmes fan for quite some time, but have generally preferred the short stories to the novels.

I reread this one recently for the first time in quite a number of years. Although I remembered a few details of the plot, I had forgotten quite a bit of it.

It was more fun to read than I expected, and less predictable than I expected. The last scene with Watson and Miss Morstan was particularly fun to read.

Although I am still partial to the Adventures, this is a good Holmes novel and I heartily recommend it to anyone.
