A great sequel to The Goose Girl--I liked this one just as much! Enna's story is a lot darker than Isi's--Bayern is at war and Enna has to deal with loss, strained friendships, betrayal, capture, a power she doesn't know how to control, and lots of guilt over her actions. There are actually some pretty disturbing bits, but I kind of love where Hale took this story. The ending feels a little disjointed somehow, but I'll forgive her for that because it ends well, and because I really love these characters.
