Recommended for: self-loathing colored person, a benignly racist white person, those who appreciate beautiful writing
Read in May, 2005

I'm so so glad that I'm crystal clear on Naipaul's unwavering, eternal hatred for all colored peoples, all marginalized people around the world. His hatred and disgust for himself and the communities he is loosely tied to truly never ever withers. Yes, Africa's doomed, Asia is doomed, let's bleach our skin and drink tea with the blue eyed Europeans, and thank you Naipaul for writing paragraph long sentences and describing the rivers and trees of Africa with simultaneous greater love, respect, wonder, and hate than Sir Joseph Conrad ever could have done.
