IMHO, another entry in the "gifted illustrators should not write their own books" category. In order to pull off the rhymes in this book, Kirk throws in vocabulary and phraseology way above the comprehension of the average lap listener. Or even the above average lap listener. Added to that is the spurious counting book theme - ya know, two beetles didn't want to have tea with Miss Spider, three moths fluttered away in fear, etc, etc.
