A christmas present from Clare, I've long wanted to read one of Lewycka's books.

A look at life as young naive immigrants come to England looking for the answers to all their problems. Amusing, and very well written in pigeon English, and flowing prose. I like the character development - snapshots of each character's feelings and histories as you go through.

As a story of immigrants to the UK there are disturbing hints of the human trafficking business which is currently more lucrative than drug trafficking!
