I've been using this book off and on for years, but had never read the whole thing, until recently. I was impressed with the easy readability. The language is so simple and clear. I like the frequent examples Hay provides to illustrate her concepts. The part I was taken with was the little chapter, "Daily Work," in which she describes a longer term use of affirmations around her landlord and moving. I have mixed feelings about using her "list." On the one hand it seems too simplistic to me. On the other hand, she says she has reports from therapists that it is accurate 90-95% of the time. I just have trouble believing that issues can be reduced to simple solutions like this when I have been trained to think more in a systems approach. At the same time, I can see the intuitive rationale with each body concept. So far my approach has been to use the list anyway and see if it helps the client, or me. Finally, I am awestruck with what this woman has overcome in her life...more
