This book is an amazing look at the historical Jesus and how he affected the world. I was raised in church and know a lot about the Bible, but this book brought together so many of the fragments of knowledge we all have, and fused them together into something that actually makes sense. Most importantly: 1. the political setting in the years before Jesus' birth and life, 2. the making of the New Testament and how Paul fits in, and 3. Cahill very clearly and sanely explains the book of Revelations in 12 pages. Amazing.
