From what I've read of other reviews, I have the same problems with this book that most do - the annoying descriptions of how beautiful Rhapsody is, the Mary Sue-ness of Rhapsody along with her Gary Stu counterpart Ashe, and the over-usage of really long words.

However, putting that all aside, Symphony of Ages is most assuredly my favorite series I've read to date. The plot is complex and leaves you guessing and on edge, hoping to find out more. The lore of the land is intense and interesting, unlike a lot of land's histories. The part that music plays is something that I've always loved. And every other character is so well-portrayed that you can't help but look over the two bad ones.

And so Rhapsody: Child of Blood, the first installment of this amazingly complex series, receives two thumbs way, way up in my book.
