Recommended for: Fans of horror, action or sf
Read in January, 1988, read count: 2

This book is all the more amazing when you consider that it was KIng's first published novel (or one of the first, at least).

It hits home with so many people because King nails dead on the cruelty of which people--not just kids btw--are capable. At one time or another in our lives, have not all of us felt like an outcast?

Carrie is mocked and treated cruelly. Unfornately, she has the power to really take revenge on her tormentors.

This book has been reprinted numberous times and will no doubt stay in print a long time. It is a true horror classic; but also the descriptions of the people are very realistic and will not be date quickly.

I would not recommend this book for really young teens though, age 15 on up would be better.

Otherwise a really good treat for any fans of horror or sf.
