I usually love Sarah Dessen but this one just didn't work for me. It seemed forced, particularly the way she over-used the "lock and key" analogy. I like her writing style, though; she reminds me of a young Anne Tyler. I think she has great potential and I look forward to her new book out in June '09. Skip this one and read "Just Listen" or "The Truth About Forever". Some drug/alcohol use and one veiled sexual encounter.
