really liked it
bookshelves: joannes-picks, suspense

Duma Key almost gives The Shining a run for its money as a supernatural blockbuster. It is the story of a man who is injured in an accident that needs a great deal of recovery, his wife leaves him and he moves to Florida where he rents a house on Duma Key. He’s obsessed with the history of the family who owns the key, and even begins frantic and haunted painting sessions that offer glimpses and clues to the emerging story. This is definitely another hair standing on end story especially when the ghosts and mysteries emerge. You would have to look far and wide to find another book that will thrill you, scare you and maybe cause you some sleepless nights. I loved it, and highly recommend it to the lover of the supernatural, paranormal or bizarre. Mr. King’s new book is a book of short stories titled Just After Sunset which is very good too.
