Hmmm. Well. This was not a bad read. I just had an existing issue going into Dark Symphony. I have thought since the first book of the series that Byron was a dufus. Not manly, not imposing or romantic or particularly useful. Hence, a dufus. So, I wasn't expecting much when it came to his story. I must say, it was much better than I thought it would be. It was more of a who-dunnit than a paranormal romance.

Antoinetta was a nice change for a heroine. She was a 37 year old, blind, successful, independent woman. Quite a rarity in romance novels, and I liked her for it. Even her family grew on me. And Byron was not the usual Carpathian grabbing on, yelling "mine!" and taking over. They were much more of a partnership than I have seen in the previous Dark novels. All of this said, I still think Byron is a dufus. Had it been any character other than him, I would have rated the book higher.

Gardavson lol, my reaction completely! I didn't think I'd like the book because, really, who wants to read about Byron? But it turned out better than I expected.
