** spoiler alert ** Bluegrass: A True Story of Murder in Kentucky didn't knock me off my feet, but it was okay as far as true crime books go. What stood out to me the most was the sadness of the life of the victim, Katie Autry, who was raised in foster care, and the utter gruesomeness of her murder--she was raped, stabbed and set on fire, suffering third-degree burns over most of her body.
