Now that I've had some time to reflect and shake off the heartbreak of the ending, I'm dropping a star. Some plot points are bugging the bejesus out of me. I'll be back...
Trembling as I turned the final page. Don't even know what to say. Devastated.

Julie Despite the enormous amount of press and great reviews this book has received, I had no idea what it was about. I started to skim the first few pages last night and that was it, I was hooked.

Charisse A heartwrenching story.

Robyn Markow Although I really got into this story;I felt certain things in the book just didn't make sense. First of all,why would a couple who are journalists go to a country that had so many problems for a vacation? I mean, wouldn't they know about the oil wars there? It just did'nt make sense to me. I did love the character of Little Bee & i felt terrible that she was deported. In spite of the book's inconsistencies( Another one:Sarah took her young son w/her to Nigeria right after Little Bee is sent back putting him in harms way?) I want to know if the title character is going to be OK & get political asylum in England.(less)
