MacKayla Lane went to Dublin to investigate who killed her older sister only to be pulled into a world of intrigue where everybody seems to be looking for an unseleigh hallow: the sinsar dubh, a book which makes her acutely dizzy and nauseated whenever she is close. Since she can sense the book, Mac becomes a focus for all the forces.
The book is fabulous until the last chapter. Then everything goes over the cliff. I think the author meant to give us a cliff hanger to ensure large sales of the next book but I felt like the poor reader got pushed off that cliff instead. I believe that cliff hangers are a cheap maneuver. A good story will generate interest and followers without cheap tricks.
