This book was unlike any other that I've ever read- and I mean that in the very best way. I was nervous at first because I had read Kristin Hannah's Christmas offering entitled Comfort And Joy, and it was mediocre at best. Magic Hour, however, was haunting, beautifully written, and it dealt with the familiar topic of a missing child in a most unfamiliar way (because the child in this story was very possibly a "wild" or feral child due to the circumstances of her situation). The author weaved a tale that kept me reading. I genuinely couldn't bear to put it down for too long. I desperately wanted to know what happened to "Alice," what her future would bring, would she ever start talking, etc. Giving this book any less than 5 stars would just be a lie on my part. A fantastic read- very much recommended.

Brian I wanted to tell you that because of your REVIEW I have added this book to my Amazon Wish List and plan on reading it ;-)

Mary Louise I really think you might like this one! Yes, there's a concept of a missing child- but have you ever read a book about a feral (wild) child? It was pretty fascinating! I'll try to write reviews more often.
