I have had this on my to-read list for many years and never read it. Finally got to it. Sobbing as it ended from having had my heart deeply touched, to not wanting it to end, I will now put it on my top ten foreverbooks... To be read again and again.
As was said in the foreword....."A tree Grows in Brooklyn is not the sort of book that can be reduced to its plot line. The best anyone can say is that it is a story about what it means to be human."
