A wonderfully interesting, wonderfully written look at the hidden-in-plain-sight world of the professional baseball umpire. You'd better believe I'll be paying close attention to the men in blue the next time I head down to Camden Yards. If you've ever heckled an ump (and if you've been to a ballpark, you've heckled an ump) you should read this book. Consider it a pleasant penance for sorely underestimating the skill it takes to call a ballgame.
