Dear Jodi Picoult,

I apologize for my nasty comments and "Mom Lit" accusations. Nineteen Minutes was riveting, thought-provoking, and not just for moms.

Addendum: Too predictable and formulaic, but enjoyable.

Ali Actually, no. In a strange way, learning about the antagonist--and realizing he was a sympathetic character--catered to my Boo Radley obsession and, therefore, challenged and inspired me to be more empathetic. That being said, this book does demonstrate how physically and emotionally unsafe schools can be, which is super depressing, especially for a high school teacher!!
