The best thing about this book was the cover, which is revealed to be a selection of examples of envelope linings collected into a giant book, carefully arranged in 2-inch squares on notebook paper. I love the idea of that book, and the effort that went into it for some compulsive and unknowable purpose, and the lightness of those little squares like laundry on a line. Unfortunately, the bulk of this tiny book is pompous self-absorption and not enough of the grisly details of King's insane collection.
