This was such a superb addition to Hill's excellent Simon Serrailler series.

This one dealt with themes of aloneness and loneliness and responses to those issues.

As with all of this series (which should be read in order) the crime aspect is only one part of the overall story. It is so rich in characterisations and insights into the human condition.
