Read in April, 2009

I've only made the madeleines thus far, but they came out beautifully and were nummy =D

EDIT: Overall, absolutely lovely book, and great reading for anyone with a particular fondness for pastry shops (but of course, you could have guessed that...). My one complaint is that the recipes aren't as "everyday" as those in her classic Baking: From My Home to Yours, so I wouldn't want it as a recipe book per say, and there isn't enough other text to really justify more than a library jaunt.

Baobhan My sweet tooth has faded quite a bit as I've gotten older, which is a very good thing, as I used to be a raging sugar-fiend. But dang, madeleines sound really good right about now!

I eat a small square of 84% dark chocolate every night with a bit of raw almond butter on top. Oh, my gosh, is that good. And I'll never turn down cupcakes, key lime pie, and lemon bars. Yum!

Joseybird I've been trying to reduce my sugar intake, but I've been baking a lot lately, and it's hard to resist all that yummy batter! I just made a flourless chocolate torte for the first time (Cooks Illustrated recipe) and I can't wait to eat it tonight for Passover =D

You should try Cooks Illustrated's chocolate chip cookie recipe--it uses browned butter and it's GODLY OMG.

I want to make parmesan-peppercorn cornmeal madeleines. I've found a recipe for cornmeal madeleines and I plan to just mix in some parm and pepper =)
