I quite liked this book, although I didn't think it was as good as The Door Within Trilogy (by the same author, Wayne Thomas Batson). It had a couple of piraty scenes (= blood) in it, but hey, it's a pirate book!

I liked the fact that it wasn't set in another world like you would expect, but was in this world. For example. the Captain was Scottish, and there were British and Frenchmen around.

Although I wasn't spending every spare minute reading it, I did enjoy it very much.
