Bookbinder Brooklyn Wainwright is afraid to meet her old friend and mentor Abraham--he's been cool since she went into business on her own. But when she attends a reception at the Covington Library, he's happy to see her. That makes it all the more shocking when she finds him dead, and finds that handsome British security expert Derek Stone suspects her of the killing. Brooklyn knows that Abraham's dying words to her hold a clue to his death, as does the legend that the rare, valuable edition of Goethe's Faust on which he was working is cursed.
