it was ok
bookshelves: not-finished

I...couldn't get through this book, and read only about 3/4 of it. I honestly had high hopes for it...it seemed dark, quirky, and importantly different(ish) from what I normally read. Unfortunately, it read like it was geared towards middle-schoolers (i've not read "Twilight" or whatever...but that name/impression lingered in my head as I read "The Sonambulist"). The quirkiness of the characters seemed very forced, and the "steam-punkiness" of the whole thing seemed a bit old...fun in some parts, but hackneyed in others.

And to the reviewer who likened it to the work of Gabriel Garcia-Marquez (on the back cover): huh?
