This book is a perfect excuse to discuss ayahuasca use among Peruvian shamen with your parents' friends at dinner parties. Also, it stands up as a great example of how not all anthropological non-fiction will bore you to tears. A fun and worthwhile read, a subtle nudge to open our world views to incorporate science and very humanistic ways of knowing.
