This book is taking me longer than I though to get through. It's a heavy-hitter. I keep having visceral and very real reactions to the descriptions so I keep putting it down to read something lighter for a while. I'm somewhat scared to see how it ends because I can't see it ending in any good way.

-------------

Finally done. I made it through some scary bits and then the book moved much faster since it got less scary. And then the ending was weird and disapointing. I won't spoil it, but let's just say that her character was really interesting, dynamic, and fully realized and then it simply ended. Very little satisfaction. I can see why it's an acclaimed book; but I was promised more and didn't receive.
