I have always heard good things about this book, but always expected it to be another generally sad, but uplifting, story of WWII. But more than the book, I was just simply amazed by this woman and her family. I can hardly comprehend the level of selflessness they showed. And yet as she was telling the story herself, I never once doubted her humility - how does that work? Wow - she is near the top of my list of women I admire now.
