This is actually the main rulebook for a role playing game set in the medieval period. It is historically based with one exception: everything the people of that time believed to be true—angels, demons, alchemy, fantastical creatures—is true. Its an enjoyable premise and the rules system is quite elegant. I actually managed to get a group together long enough to run through an adventure of my creation. It was fun, but also time consuming. I guess that’s why I spent much more time thinking about role playing games than I actually do playing them.
