This book first caught my attention because it takes place in Wyoming. The author felt drawn to the land when passing through on a cross country trip. I experienced the same attraction but unlike the author I was not brave enough to move there and live with the cold, cold winters.
This is not a Disney story. Shreve Stockton writes about the how hard it can be to bring a wild animal into a domestic setting. What I really liked about the book is that along with the story of Charlie you get a little bit of romance, a little bit of philosophy, a little bit of self awareness (the authors and my own).
The photos of Charlie are worth looking at on their own.
