Well, this was a difficult book. Not to read but to think about. It was very thought provoking. Every nation has its own dark sides of the history, we Czechs have them too. One of them is definitely the expatriation of the Germans after the WWII. I haven't lived in those times, so I can't judge. I really understand that the people were, after the war, very angry and really afraid of everything German. But I do not think it was right to do them what they have done to us ... yes it is in the Bible ... eye for an eye ... but is it civilised ... aren't we (or our fathers and grandfahters) as bad as they were then??? Who can say ... There is only one thing for sure, we Czechs do not like to think about this part of our history, we do not want to admit we have done, what we have done, and still many of us do think about the German nation with contempt ... but WHY?
