Having just attended a series of six lectures (in one day) by astronomers at the forefront of research, a trip to the library landed me with this. I loved his book Stardust, it is just about the right level for my understanding. Science writing at its finest, I think. The present volume is more about cosmology I suspect as it goes into the limits of knowledge and explores not so much possible 'facts' outside our frames of reference but the limitations of our current frames of reference in terms of 'knowing' the cosmos. It is quite recent (2006) and covers much recent data gathering technology away from visible spectrum, and highlights theory modification of new data, and emerging models and theories.
