This is one of the Wallace Boys books by Duncan Watt, who grew up in British Africa and now resides in Singapore. This excellent boys adventure series has been pretty successful around the world, but not so much in the USA. In this story the brothers are sailing around in Southeast Asia and have some amazing adventures with Moro pirates in the Sulu Sea. The plot of this book is nicely similar to the Rick Brant book THE PIRATES OF SHAN. It's like another version of that terrific story, with some unusual twists. If you like the Rick Brant and Biff Brewster series from back in the 1950s and 1960s, you'll like the up-to-date stories in this series which center on Africa, the Mideast, and Southeast Asia. A really terrific series!
