The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I loved this book. It is set in 1946 England. A writer, Juliet, is to write about how literature helped people through the war. She becomes pen pals with a group who live on the island of Guernsey, a channel island invaded and occupied by the Nazi for 5 years during the war. I won't say more because I don't want to give anything away. The fascinating thing about this book is that the whole story is told through letters and telegrams. Through the letters you hear each character's voice and learn a lot about them. It's a fun book.
