Although overall this novel has a rather unoriginal and sentimental concept - the story itself is fantastic, and romantic - has so much depth, bitterness, despair, passion that it stops being trite - and just sucks u up. The intrinsic, philosophic, myriad life anecdotes are intoxicating as well. Think... Weathering Hights, meets Shakespeare, meets... Camus!
