really liked it
bookshelves: science-fiction
Read in August, 2007

Great. One of the only (the only?) african american women writing science fiction, but it's good (and should be read) just because of that. It should be read, if you like Sci-fi, because it's really good, well written, and thought provoking. I'd read blood child, the opening story, before, but didn't mind the reread. I even enjoyed reading the short explanations by the author that followed each story, interesting while not too this is what it means.

Mark Oh - I was going to say "What about "Dawn" - that's sci-fi written by an AA woman?" Then I realized it's by Octavia Butler!
