Now that I have a daughter I appreciate the need to be fancy. I am a parent, just like fancy nancy's, boring and wear lots of jeans and t-shirts. My daughter is a nancy. I can't believe how much pink and purple is in her wardrobe.
My son loves this book too. I guess it is just the great storytelling that draws them in, and of course, the fabulous illustrations.
