This book is a fictional story surrounding a real mystery: the Water-Pit of Oak Island in Maine. Basically there is a cunningly-constructed self-flooding shaft built in the 1700's which probably contains buried gold at the bottom.
I have researched the real mystery, so when I found that two very sharp authors (anybody read Relic?) wrote about it, I had to read it.
It's quite good, not over-the-top but still exciting. A very cool thriller, quite well-written.
