Read in May, 2004

Read this back in 2004 and here is my review at the time:

I am a big fan of time travel books, especially those of Jack Finney and Diana Gabaldon (haven't read Time Traveler's Wife yet, so am in no position to comment of Audrey Niffenegger yet) and was eager to read this one, despite the fact that it arrived within moments of one other ring and the day after another.

Providence, in the form of bronchitis, stepped in theis weekend to allow me the solitude and free time to read. Unfortunately, the accompanying fever may has distorted the plot a bit, as I have the distinct feeling I dreamed some sequences that weren't in the book...Like I dreamed Mariah and David went back to find the town where Mariah said she was from, and that they found the old family bible in an antique store- that holding it in her hands allowed her to see that Taylor was in Miriah's body at home with Frank, also trying to puzzle things out. Or the actual effort it took Taylor to complete the daily chores in an age without modern conveniences. I have flipped through the book again, and can find nowhere where she says "Washboards and wringers can go to hell". The other passages are also nowhere, so I think they came from my fevered imagination.
