I enjoyed the alternating view points/chapters. It was little confusing at first because the transition was choppy. Until you realized that every other chapter was Sarah then Toby, you didn't understand until a few paragraphs in the chapter.
Sarah secretly craved sitting with the in-crowd. When she finally gets the chance, she realizes it wasn't what she hoped it would be. She gets noticed by the hottest guy in school, Dave ... her ticket into the popular crowd. Sarah's a believer in true love, soul mates, the real thing. Dave is clearly not any of those. To add a twist in hers and Dave's relationship, she starts noticing Toby in a whole new way.
Toby's never had a problem with girls, they literally throw themselves at him. He's never had to approach one. Now he wants more. He wants a relationship and love. He sees this in Sarah, his polar opposite. With college approaching it's now or never. He's determined to get Sarah away from Dave.
I'm a sucker for those true love, soul mates, the real deal, romances. This was definitely one of those. The big kicker for me, we get to see some time with Toby and Sarah. A lot of novels will have the lovers chasing after each other, only to unite in the last chapter. Then bam, the book is over. Not this one. A big chunk of the book is dedicated to their romance.
Would I recommend? Yes, but not to young teens. This novel contains lots of talk about sex, little drugs (1 scene), and some graphic language.
