Again, 3 stars for this series.

It's very enjoyable, dull in parts, really predictable and silly in some. But it's a young adult/kids book, and it reads as such.

Though the story is ultimately that of triumph, the struggles and darkness that is evident throughout the story came as a bit of a shock. Whereas the 1st book was all about new situations and not developing characters or plots well, this one was almost the complete opposite, developing all the characters, but sort of breezing through different points in the story.

It's solid, I enjoyed it. I'm going to read the 3rd book, and then we'll see if I read the other trilogies or not.
