I made it about halfway before chucking this one. Maybe I'll think of a better reason than "It just seemed pointless" someday. The MC went from one extreme physical threat to another, which became just as ho-hum after so much repetition as so many trips to the dry cleaners.

The premise, a food-sampling slave forced to learn the art of poisoning, is pretty cool. The book is an easy read. But I kept getting distracted by the desire to watch my cats lick themselves when I should have been reading.
