Despite what SOME people seem to be saying on this site, Quartet is the ultimate book, and the ultimate Pym experience--funny and strange, humming with compassion, and compact enough to stick in a tiny purse! How can you not love a book where on the third page we learn that one of the old lady heroines goes to the library to read and the other one goes to pick up senior citizen travel brochures and to stuff the trash that she doesn't think should go in the garbage can into the spaces on the bookshelves?
