This is a gem of a book! I picked it up in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia last week. It is a gardener's painted journal in which Mary Woodin, an avid gardener in England, describes her year in her garden. It is lavishly illustrated with watercolour paintings and vignettes.

She offers tips about growing certain plants together, sprinkels quotes throughout the book and there's even some poetry. Anything and everything that crosses her path and is related to gardening gets put in.

I'm not a gardener - but I do like flowers! - and I loved this book!

This book obviously would appeal to gardeners but also to artists who love to read other artists' journals. You won't be disappointed in this one!

Laura I agree with you about this book, Bonny! I even sent a copy to Linda Moreland a few years ago!
