did not like it

I see a lot of good reviews for this book. For me, it didn't cut it. I thought Chabon missed the mark when it came to creating a fantasy world. It seemed like a messy creation of a mix between Narnia and Pullman's world, some Dr. Seuss land, and that mix of trees with doors that Jack comes up to in "A Nightmare Before Christmas." It felt all over the place and unc-ontained, almost as if the rules were made up while going along. It was a pretty stressful read for me.
