It was a page turner and I enjoyed reading about how things "might" have been back then, but I thought it was a little too much "heaving" and "throbbing" for my taste. Being that the story is about Henry's mistresses, you would expect a sexual story, but I thought it would be a little more discreet. The incest thing was a little much. I know Anne was charged with it, but it was just a little icky to read about. Same goes for the birthing of incest baby. Icky. At some points I thought it was a Harelquine Romance.
